On April 9, 2024, the final conference of the BLOOM project titled "Circular Economy in Construction" was held at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Thank you to all construction entrepreneurs, partners, and colleagues for supporting the BLOOM project, co-financed by Innovation Norway Grants!

Special contributions to this event were made by their knowledge and experience at the beginning of the conference: Ambassador Mr. Arne Sannes Bjornstad (Royal Norwegian Embassy), Director of the Development Agency Zagreb, Kornelija Mlinarević, and Mrs. Viktorija Rončević from the Development Agency of Zagreb County. Several presentations were held, showcasing key activities on the topic of circular economy in construction in Croatia and worldwide.

The conference was held in collaboration with the Norwegian partner, International Development Norway, with active participation from experts. Assoc. Prof. Ivan Novak from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb presented "Circular Economy: Macroeconomic Indicators and Best Practices," Prof. Martine Murphy from the School of Architecture and Built Environment at Ulster University in Belfast presented "Circular Economy and Waste Reduction through Design," and Anders Stolan, CEO of International Development Norway, presented "Transition to Green Business – Best Practices from Norway." Davor Blažek, Director of the Strategy and Development Department at NEXE, presented the phenomenal megaproject CO₂NTESSA, which will continue to be widely discussed and written about.

Through the BLOOM project, we embarked on empowering entrepreneurs in the construction sector in Croatia, especially in areas affected by earthquakes, focusing on agile management and circular economy in construction. From the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the following faculty members participated: Assoc. Prof. Maja-Marija Nahod, Prof. Ivica Završki, Prof. Anita Cerić, Assoc. Prof. Zvonko Sigmund, and Assoc. Prof. Lana Lovrenčić Butković. Thanks to Neven for the IT support, without which nothing would have been the same.

We look forward to future collaborations that will emerge from the BLOOM project.
