An employee has the right to respect for their person and protection of dignity during the performance of their job duties.
The Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Zagreb (hereinafter: the Faculty) protects the dignity of employees during work, i.e., the performance of their duties, from the actions of superiors, colleagues, and individuals with whom they regularly come into contact in the course of their work, if such actions are unwelcome and contrary to applicable laws.
The Faculty does not tolerate any forms of discrimination, harassment, or sexual harassment against its employees, nor any such behavior by faculty members towards students or other individuals with whom faculty members come into contact during their work at the Faculty.
Employee dignity is protected from harassment or sexual harassment by ensuring that the Faculty provides working conditions in which employees are not exposed to harassment or sexual harassment. This protection includes implementing preventive measures.
The Faculty is obligated to protect employees and individuals seeking employment at the Faculty from direct or indirect discrimination in the field of work and working conditions, including criteria for selection and conditions of employment, advancement, professional orientation, professional training and development, as well as requalification, in accordance with applicable laws.
Direct or indirect discrimination in the field of work and working conditions, including criteria for selection and conditions of employment, advancement, professional orientation, professional training and development, as well as requalification, is prohibited in accordance with specific laws.
Discrimination based on race or ethnic origin, color, sex, language, religion, political or other belief, national or social origin, property status, membership in a union, education, social status, marital or family status, age, health condition, disability, genetic heritage, gender identity, expression, or sexual orientation is prohibited. Discrimination includes placing someone at a disadvantage based on any of the aforementioned grounds or on misconceptions about the existence of these grounds.
Harassment is any unwanted behavior based on any of the aforementioned grounds that aims to or actually violates a person's dignity, and creates an environment that is intimidating, hostile, humiliating, or offensive. Sexual harassment is any verbal, non-verbal, or physical unwanted behavior of a sexual nature that aims to or actually violates a person's dignity, especially if it creates a frightening, hostile, humiliating, demeaning, or offensive environment.
Commissioners for the protection of employees' dignity, who, besides the dean, are authorized to receive and address complaints related to the protection of employees' dignity are:
