ECTS Coordinator

Each constituent unit of the University of Zagreb is obliged to appoint an ECTS coordinator whose task is to ensure the proper implementation of the ECTS system, provide expert and administrative support to the faculty's students regarding the recognition of ECTS credits earned at other faculties, evaluate extracurricular activities, facilitate study visits and internships abroad, and coordinate the development of informational packages and academic collaboration with foreign partners.

At the undergraduate and graduate levels of study, the faculty's ECTS coordinator serves as the contact person for students and faculty staff regarding mobility programs and mediates between students and teaching staff regarding exchanges, advising students on the selection of study programs at foreign universities. They are also responsible for signing documents for mobility arrangements: learning agreements, consent forms for proposed mobility, etc. Students can earn ECTS credits for extracurricular activities for which ECTS credits have previously been assigned by the activity organizer, but outside the University of Zagreb, and the evaluation and recognition of such ECTS credits are conducted by the ECTS coordinator.

At the postgraduate level of study, the ECTS coordinator, in collaboration with study advisors, mentors, and subject teachers, records the ECTS credits earned by doctoral students through activities not organized by the faculty. Doctoral candidates can earn ECTS credits through exams at other scientific institutions and other compulsory and elective forms of work.

The Faculty's ECTS coordinator also provides opinions on the recognition of ECTS credits for transfer students from other programs, and in consultation with the subject teacher, may recognize the exam in its entirety or determine differential obligations for transfer students. Students can achieve horizontal mobility within the University in other related study programs where they can enroll in certain subjects not offered at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, with the consent of the ECTS coordinator and the coordinator of the selected subject.
