The Department of Structures is one of nine departments of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Zagreb. Scientific research and university teaching are the main activities of the faculty, which are connected with highly professional work carried out in parallel. It is traditionally divided into departments dealing with concrete, metal and wooden structures, and bridges.

The modern equipment of the Department, together with computer software packages for the calculation and dimensioning of building structures, are among the best in the world.

A flexible organization, a concentration of experts, equipment and a significant fund of the latest literature, make the Department of Structures a serious partner in demanding construction projects. This is confirmed by long-standing cooperation with Croatian and foreign scientific institutions, large Croatian construction companies, as well as successfully completed projects in cooperation with foreign partners.

The Department is organized into four chairs:
