The VIBRA-MAS project develops a new non-destructive method for determining the modulus of elasticity of masonry based on measurements of natural frequencies induced by forced vibrations. The method does not require damaging the structure, which is particularly important for historic and protected buildings.

Activities
The research includes laboratory testing of masonry specimens, field testing on existing buildings, numerical modelling, and the development and validation of an analytical model. The results of all phases are combined into a software tool intended for engineering practice.
Expected impact
The project contributes to the digital transition of the construction sector, the improvement of structural testing procedures, and the renovation of earthquake-damaged buildings. The results will be applied in engineering practice, science and cultural heritage preservation.
