I was born on 4 February 1988 in Nova Gradiška, Croatia. After completing my primary and secondary education in Zagreb, I enrolled in July 2007 at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Civil Engineering. I completed the undergraduate university study programme in September 2010 and the graduate university study programme, specialising in Transportation Engineering, in September 2012. In December 2012, I enrolled in the postgraduate doctoral study programme at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Civil Engineering, specialising in Transportation Engineering. I completed my doctoral dissertation, entitled “Design of Standard Turbo Roundabouts”, under the supervision of Professor Vesna Dragčević and defended it on 11 July 2018, thereby obtaining the academic degree of Doctor of Science in the scientific field of technical sciences, in the scientific area of civil engineering.
From December 2012 to November 2018, I was employed as a Research and Teaching Assistant; from December 2018 to November 2022, as a Postdoctoral Researcher; and from December 2022 to the present, as an Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Transportation Engineering, where I participate in scientific research, teaching, and professional activities.
During my time at the Faculty, I participated in several research projects funded by the European Union (NextGenerationEU National Recovery and Resilience Plan), the University of Zagreb, and one scientific project funded by the Ministry of Science and Education of Croatia. To date, I have co-authored 30 scientific papers and three professional papers. I also received the Faculty of Civil Engineering Award for a scientific paper published in the highest-ranked scientific journal in the academic year 2016/2017. I have reviewed numerous papers for both international and national scientific journals. I have participated in numerous scientific and professional conferences, delivering oral presentations as an author. I have also attended workshops on road surface design and acoustics. As an assistant professor, I independently prepare and deliver lectures and practical exercises in undergraduate and graduate civil engineering courses. I have served as a supervisor and co-supervisor for undergraduate and master’s theses, and, together with students, have co-authored several scientific and professional papers. As part of the professional activities of the Department of Transportation Engineering, I have worked as a project associate preparing reports on noise protection, studies, engineering projects, and the development of various national road regulations. Notable projects include the proposal for a new regulation on road design and the preparation of the New General Technical Requirements for Road Works (GTR 2024).
I am fluent in English and have a basic knowledge of German. I am proficient in the following software packages: MS Office, Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MXROAD, Bentley OpenRoads, Autodesk Vehicle Tracking, AutoTURN, TORUS, and LimA.
