The 1_st WORKSHOP of the VETROLIGNUM project (one-day workshop) was held on 23_rd October 2017 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University in Zagreb.

The workshop was attended by 35 participants.

The workshop was organized in three sections (agenda):

- welcome address & introduction of project partners
- Introduction to the VETROLIGNUM Project

- Hybrid Timber - Structural Glass Systems - Curent Test Results
  (lecturer: prof. Roko Žarnić)
- Numerical Modelling of Hybrid Timber - Structural Glass Systems
  (lecturer: Mislav Stepinac, PhD & Jure Barbalić)

- Architectural Design Possibilities of Hybrid Timber-Structural Glass Systems
  (lecturer: Prof. Ivica Plavec)
- A Method to Combine Safety, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Requirement in the Design of Buildings (the central part of the workshop)
  (lecturer: Dr. Paolo Negro, head of ELSA Research Center of the European Commission, Ispra)

- Demonstration Laboratory Testing of CLT Timber Frame Joint with Glued-in Steel Rod (in the GFZG Construction Testing Laboratory)

We hope that the workshop was fruitful for all the participants. We are looking forward to see more participants at the next workshop in 2018 where we try to present more interesting lecturers as well as new project results.
