The Chair for hydro engineering in water management deals with open watercourses and sea, large hydro engineering systems and related facilities. It uses all standard engineering computer tools and current hydro engineering software for hydro engineering, such as: MIKE 1, 2  and 3, HEC, SMS and a number of its own software.  It is equipped with ADCP ultrasonic discharge meter that enables analysis of morphology and a flow with river and sea.

Apart from research and teaching activities, the chair’s experts take part in preparing studies and projects of complex hydro engineering systems, from  farmlands drainage and irrigation systems, small size hydro-power plants, inland waterways, sea and river ports, quays and marines, watercourse regulations, to the systems from protection from floods. They also handle reviews and project reviews in the mentioned field.
