Research within the CWBframe project will be based on existing resources available at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Zagreb (GFZG) with the need to secure new resources.
Existing resources:
- Laboratory equipment: GFZG has a universal static testing machine for testing materials and components, and a universal dynamic testing machine for testing full-size samples. Other equipment available includes: a frame structure for testing on a servo-hydraulic machine, a TECNA 3646 spot welding device, sensors for measuring displacement and deformation, a data acquisition system (DAQ), force measurement cells, an Academia 50 3D scanner, and a camera.
- Computer programs: The following software packages are available: AutoDesk, MS Office, ABAQUS for numerical analyses using the finite element method, STRUREL for probabilistic analyses, OpenLCA with associated databases for conducting life cycle analyses, Creaform VXelements for conducting and processing 3D geometry scans.
- Computer equipment: Computers for all researchers and a workstation with advanced features for conducting numerical simulations.
- Results and data: Existing laboratory test results and numerical analyses from previous research on the LWT-FLOOR and SPOTWELDED projects represent a key basis for research within the CWBframe project.
New resources needed:
- Research costs: Costs of conducting laboratory tests of materials, components and CWB elements in conditions that simulate the behavior of beams as part of a frame system, which include the costs of purchasing materials and making samples for laboratory tests. Consumables, purchase of professional literature.
- Equipment costs: Testing equipment (hardness tester, ultrasound) with an emphasis on testing spot welds. Upgrading and maintenance of IT and other research equipment and licenses for software packages.
- Training costs: Financing participation in scientific conferences and training courses and international mobility for a minimum of 1 month.
- Open access and dissemination costs: preparation and publication of papers and costs of planned workshops.
- Indirect costs: Administration - prescribed by the tender in the amount of 7%.
