Equipment

For the successful implementation of the project, comprehensive infrastructural support is necessary, including laboratories for mechanical testing of wood, a carpentry workshop for sample preparation, computer equipment for numerical modeling and data processing equipment. The experimental part will be carried out in the laboratories of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Zagreb and, if possible, partner institutions, using universal testing machines for testing compressive, tensile and flexural properties, climate chambers for humidity control, sensors and deformation monitoring systems. In addition, specialized woodworking tools (saws, planers, milling machines) will be used in the carpentry workshop for the production of modular samples.
Numerical analysis and modeling will be carried out using computer programs for static and dynamic analysis (RFEM, Ansys, TimberTech), as well as software for parametric modeling and optimization. High-performance computer equipment will enable efficient data processing and storage, while statistical processing tools (e.g. Excel, MATLAB) will be used for analysis and visualization.
Cooperation with the economy (FI.-MA.d.o.o., Domusplus d.o.o., Domprojekt d.o.o.), and the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Split, the Technical University of Zagreb, and Tecnico Lisboa and TalTech Tallinn, further strengthens the research component of the project, enabling the use of their infrastructure and knowledge. Also, for the implementation of workshops, education and dissemination activities, the use of multimedia equipment for the preparation of presentations and web platforms for dissemination and networking is planned.
The infrastructure will include access to databases (e.g. Scopus, Web of Science) and libraries for researching the latest achievements in the field of wooden structures and sustainable construction. This combination of laboratory, computer, logistical and expert support ensures high-quality implementation of all phases of the project, from sample preparation, experimental testing and validation of results, to the application and dissemination of results to the economy and the scientific community.
