Rođena je 1975. godine u Splitu. Nakon osnovnog i srednjoškolskog obrazovanja u Splitu studirala je na Građevinskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu gdje je diplomirala 1999. Magistrirala je s temom „Prilog osuvremenjivanju propisa za opterećenja mostova“ 2003. na Građevinskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Doktorirala je tezom „Granična stanja postojećih mostova valja ocjenjivati posebno razvijenim postupcima kroz korake kojima se složenost, a time i točnost povećava kako bi se postiglo optimalno održavanje“ 2008. na Građevinskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.
Radni odnos s Građevinskim fakultetom započinje 1999. kao znanstveni novak, a u istraživačko zvanje asistenta izabrana je 2003. godine. U znanstveno zvanje znanstveni suradnik u znanstvenom području tehničke znanosti – polje građevinarstvo izabrana je 2009. Iste godine izabrana je u znanstveno-nastavno zvanje docenta. Slijedi izbor u znanstveno zvanje višeg znanstvenog suradnika u 2010. te u znanstvenog savjetnika 2012. U znanstveno-nastavno zvanje i radno mjesto izvanredni profesor izabrana je 2015 godine.
Od 2016. godine obnaša dužnost pročelnice Katedre za mostove na Zavodu za konstrukcije, a od 2018. i prodekanice za međunarodnu suradnju Građevinskog fakulteta. iste godine postaje i član Vijeća tehničkog područja na Sveučilištu u Zagrebu.
Od početka rada na Građevinskom fakultetu Ana Mandić Ivanković sudjeluje u stručnim poslovima Zavoda za konstrukcije. Na Katedri za mostove niz godina pomaže u recenziranju idejnih te revidiranju glavnih projekata podvožnjaka, nadvožnjaka, vijadukata, mostova. Kao suradnik sudjelovala je na nizu stručnih projekata i studija, te je jedan od projektanata idejnog projekta mosta Jarun.
Glavno područje istraživanje jesu granična stanja i ocjenjivanje postojećih mostova, poglavito u pogledu potresne otpornosti, otpornosti na vjetar i pouzdanosti na prometno djelovanje. Od 2011. članica je, a od 2017. i zamjenica predsjednika uredničkog odbora međunarodnog časopisa Structural Engineering International te radne komisije međunarodne organizacije za mostove i konstrukcije – IABSE (International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering - Working Commission 1: Structural Performance, Safety and Analysis). Od 2014. godine aktivno sudjeluje u radu COST Akcije TU 1402: Quantifying the value of structural health monitoring, a od 2015. i COST Akcije TU 1406: Quality specifications for roadway bridges, standardization at a European level. Sudjelovala je u organizaciji niza seminara, radionica i konferencija i radu znanstvenih odbora (npr. Joint IABSE-fib Conference Dubrovnik 2010, IABSE Conference Geneva 2015, Joint COST-IABSE Workshop Zagreb 2017).
