Career Center of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Zagreb

The Career Center of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Zagreb was established with the aim of preparing students for entering the job market through activities such as internships, workshops, and the GRADify job fair.

The Career Center provides support to students in career development through career counseling, organizing practical skill development workshops, and connecting them with employers. Through the services of the Career Center, students participate in workshops related to soft skills and digital skills development, as well as in work-study programs.

Students can reach out to the Career Center for questions related to any of its activities, for advice on finding internships or employment, assistance with resume and cover letter writing, or to learn how to manage their careers in line with their interests, abilities, and values.

At the Career Center, you can obtain information about internships or employment opportunities and receive support in the job or internship search process through career counseling, consultations on resume and cover letter writing, or assistance in preparing for job interviews.

Internship at the Faculty of Civil Engineering

Internship is intended for undergraduate and graduate students. You can do an internship throughout the academic year and during the summer.

Internship is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the profession, various fields of civil engineering, and specific tasks that await you in the future, making it easier to plan your career path. Additionally, you gain work experience and establish contacts with employers.

The Career Center informs you when applications open for summer internships, which take place throughout June, July, August, and September. Applications, student selection, and evaluation are conducted through the Career Center's digital platform.

If you are employed by an employer or already have an arranged internship, contact the Career Center to have your experience recorded as an internship and included in your study certificate supplement.

The internship lasts for a minimum of 20 working days. Responsibilities include compiling a Report on the completed internship and consistently fulfilling the duties within the internship program

Job Fair GRADify

The job fair GRADify is held every academic year with the aim of presenting employers and connecting with you, students, while also providing you with the opportunity to explore various fields of civil engineering and learn about internship and employment opportunities.

What is GRADify?

The GRADify job fair is an event that brings together employers from the field of civil engineering and students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering with the aim of networking, exchanging information, and experiences. GRADify is a great opportunity to learn about future careers, meet potential employers, and get insights into what awaits you after graduation. Additionally, GRADify offers plenty of entertainment and prize draws.

What will happen at the fair?

Employers introduce themselves at their information booths, usually enriched with various promotional materials, and provide you with all the information you need. They also present themselves through panels during which they talk about their company's business and what they expect from students or future employees. In addition to employer presentations, the Fair also features games: the iGRA competition designed by students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and a raffle. To ensure a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, DJ Mario Palić takes care of the music.

Why is the fair important to me?

At the fair, you'll have the opportunity to meet numerous employers, discuss the company's structure and operations, gain insight into future careers firsthand, and explore various internship and employment opportunities. The job fair is an excellent opportunity to connect with various employers during your student days, establish collaborations, and learn about what awaits you after completing your studies. Additionally, you can have a great time at the fair with iGRA, the entertainment section, and perhaps even win a prize.
