Mobility of teachnig and non-teaching staff

ERASMUS+

For more than three decades, the Erasmus program has been the leading educational, training, youth and sport programme in the European Union. It provides supports for the priorities and activities of the European Education Area, the Digital Education Action Plan, and the European Skills Agenda during the seven-year period from 2021 to 2027. It contributes to the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights, the EU Youth Strategy for the years 2019-2027 and advancement of the European dimension in sport.

Teachnig and non-teaching staff are eligible for the following Erasmus+ mobility opportunities:

  • ERASMUS+ STAFF MOBILITY FOR TEACHING (STA)
  • Erasmus+ staff mobility for teaching (STA) allows teaching staff to teach at a partner universities (faculties) abroad. A minimum of 8 hours of classes must be taught by the teacher during their mobility, which may extend from 2 days to 6 weeks.
  • The Erasmus+ staff mobility for teaching is exclusively facilitated by inter-institutional agreements that the Faculty of Civil Engineering has signed with its Erasmus+ partners.
  • The University of Zagreb typically posts a call for applications on its website in May/June for candidates interested in an Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching.
  • ERASMUS+ STAFF MOBILITY FOR TRAINING (STT)
  • Erasmus + Staff Mobility for Training allows any staff member to participate in a training activity abroad that is pertinent to their daily responsibilities at their higher education institution. This training is conducted at a partner university (faculty). It may manifest as training events (excluding conferences) or job shadowing and observation.
  • The University of Zagreb publishes a call for applications typically on its website in May or June of each year.

ACADEMIC MOBILITY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZAGREB

Throughout the year, the University of Zagreb issues two calls for academic mobility, emphasising the following priorities:

Outgoing mobility to strategic partners

Eligible activities include:

  • A. Teaching;
  • B. Collaboration in teaching and research;
  • C. Preparation and collection of written and other materials for courses;
  • D. Shorter training courses or familiarisation with new methods;
  • E. Agreement on new projects/collaboration

Cross-border mobility to higher education or scientific institutions

Eligible activities include:

  • A. Teaching;
  • B. Collaboration in teaching and research;
  • C. Preparation and collection of written and other materials for courses;
  • D. Shorter training courses or familiarisation with new methods;
  • E. Agreement on new projects/collaborations.

In the context of cross-border mobility, it is not a requirement for the University of Zagreb or its constituent units to have established an inter-institutional agreement.

Mobility of doctoral students at the University of Zagreb

Who is eligible to submit an application?

  • - Doctoral students who are employed at the University and its constituent units and are currently enrolled in a doctoral study programme at a constituent unit where they are employed.
  • - Doctoral students who are not employed by the University or its constituent units, including those who are enrolled as doctoral students at a constituent unit where they are not employed.
  • Doctoral students are required to be enrolled in a doctoral program during the mobility period and at the time of application. As part of this mobility, registration fees may be reimbursed for active participation in scientific and professional conferences. An oral or poster presentation is required for active participation in the conference, and only cross-border mobilities are feasible.

Incoming mobility oportunities

  • Call for announcement of incoming mobility oportunities are grounded in established bilateral university and faculty agreements, as well as initiatives aimed at fostering new agreements and innovative forms of collaboration.
  • Following eligibility criteria apply:
  • a) For incoming mobility, reimbursement will be limited to accommodation costs only.
  • b) For incoming visits under existing bilateral agreements, accommodation expenses of up to EUR 110.00 per day, for a maximum of 5 days per individual, are approved.
  • c) For incoming visits aimed at finalising new agreements and exploring new avenues of cooperation, accommodation expenses of up to EUR 110.00 per day, for a maximum of 5 days, per individual are approved.
  • d) Visits conducted under the Erasmus+ exchange programmes or for the purpose of Erasmus+ cooperation/agreements are not currently approved.
