Report for the academic year 2022/2023.

The Student Council of the Faculty of Civil Engineering is a student-elected representative body that represents the interests of students, participates in the work and decision-making of the bodies of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the University of Zagreb, and represents the students of the Faculty in the higher education system.

In the past year, there has been a change in the president of the Student Council. In October 2022, Laura Lovrinović became the new representative of the Council. The Council included colleagues Ana Krezo, Dario Paponja, Dario Medvedić, Domagoj Jukić, Lara Jagić Domović, and Marcela Krasnić, and student volunteers who became part of the organization of all upcoming activities, including Ana Jurić, Antea Marić, Karla Harča, Kristijan Šiško, Leopold Mužić, Lucijano Bajić, Marija Kosalec, Niko Milutinović, Pia Marić, and Sven Šušnjar.

As in every academic year, the Student Council of the Faculty of Civil Engineering participated in various social and educational activities for students and organized many now-traditional events.

At the beginning of the new academic year 2022/2023, members of our council, together with other student volunteers, represented the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Zagreb Fair, where they talked to prospective students, answered their questions, and introduced them to the educational program and activities of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. We welcomed the freshmen of the Faculty of Civil Engineering with a familiar party, the Freshmen's Ball, which took place on December 8, 2022, at the Tvornica kulture. The Freshmen's Ball was organized jointly with the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Geodesy.

We will not overlook our winter activities, such as the traditional Christmas banquet held on December 9, 2022. Additionally, the third annual Christmas quiz took place on December 15, 2022, with participation from students, professors, and assistants of our Faculty.

As part of the GRASP project - professional practice at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Career Center of the Faculty of Civil Engineering organized the job fair "GRADify," which was held on February 25, 2023. The idea behind the fair was to showcase employers and connect students with potential future employers. Twenty employers participated in the fair, engaging in informative conversations with our interested students. Members of our Council, as well as student volunteers, participated in the fair to provide assistance.

For the first time, we organized an Easter quiz, which took place on April 4, 2023, at the Žabac Café Bar, with a record-breaking participation of 30 teams.

Together with other faculties from our region, the Faculty of Civil Engineering participated in the annual Civil Engineering Games in Ohrid, where our students excelled in various sports such as handball (the men's team achieved 2nd place, while the women's team secured 1st place), football, volleyball (the women's team once again took 1st place, while the men's team came in 2nd), and basketball (1st place). Additionally, in addition to sports competitions, we also demonstrated excellence in the field of expertise, with our students winning the first prize in the field of geotechnics. Alongside our talented athletes and knowledgeable participants, we also proved to be very capable supporters, contributing to our overall success at the Civil Engineering Games, where we brought home the 2nd place trophy to Zagreb. Furthermore, this Civil Engineering Games saw a record number of 220 students from Zagreb participating.

As the final activity to close the previous academic year, after years of hiatus, we organized a Futsal tournament from May 27 to June 10, 2023, with the participation of professors, assistants, and students. The end of the tournament was marked by a celebration at Zags Caffe, our traditional "Betonaža" party.

All these activities (and more) found their place in the magazine of the Student Council - InfoGR@D, whose chief editors Ana Jurić, Robert Buzjak, and Sven Šušnjar summarized all the events and current topics in the field.

The Student Council hereby thanks everyone for their participation in the organization and presence at the mentioned activities. We especially thank the Faculty of Civil Engineering for their cooperation and opportunities provided without which these activities would not have been realized.

A big thank you, and let's promise even better and more active cooperation in the academic year 2023/2024.
