The Department of Structural Engineering is one of the nine departments of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Zagreb. Scientific-research work and university teaching are the basic activities of the Faculty, which are connected with the highly specialized work that is performed in parallel with them. It is traditionally divided into chairs that deal with concrete, metal and timber structures, as well as bridges.
The Department's modern equipment together with computer software packages for calculation and design of building structures are among the best in the world.
Flexible organization, concentration of experts, equipment and a considerable fund of the latest literature make the Department of Structural Engineering a serious partner in demanding construction projects. This is confirmed by long-term cooperation with Croatian and foreign scientific institutions, large Croatian construction companies, as well as successfully completed works in cooperation with foreign partners.
